Plans, directs and coordinates manufacturing processes in industrial plant.
Develops, evaluates and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods and quality control standards.
Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
Estimates production times, staffing requirements and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
Confers with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules,and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
The Manufacturing Engineer in our operation is a strong communicator, a dedicated teacher and a bridge builder between engineers, shop schedulers, work centers and project managers. In keeping with our culture, the Manufacturing Engineer is dedicated to transferring knowledge and skill to the associates employed in our manufacturing operations.
Qualifications:
Engineering degree in field related to manufacturing.
Minimum of six years personal experience in manufacturing operations, including personal experience on mills, lathes, turning centers and press brakes.
Apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form.
Deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Calculus: Apply concepts of analytic geometry, differentiation and integration of algebraic functions with applications.
Algebra: Work with exponents and logarithms, linear equations, quadratic equations, mathematical induction and binomial theorem and permutations.
Statistics: Apply mathematical operations to frequency distributions, reliability and validity of tests, normal curve, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, chi-square application and sampling theory and factor analysis.
