The Bell Group operates in a PC-based Lan and Open VMS for the VAX environment. The IS Development team converts data from project specifications and statements of problems and procedures to create or modify computer programs.
Compiles and writes documentation for program development and subsequent revisions.
Works with appropriate teams and outside resources to obtain and analyze specifications and flowcharts.
Directs and coordinates work of others to write, test and modify computer programs.
Works with partners to purchase and install upgrades or additional modules/services to computer systems.
Confers with teams concerned with computer programs to resolve questions of program intent, data input, output requirements and inclusion of internal checks and controls.
Converts detailed logical flowchart to language process-able by computer.
Coordinates with IS Operations team to develop test and implementation strategies.
Enters program codes into computer system; inputs test data into computer.
Interprets program-operating codes.
Corrects program errors, using methods such as modifying program or altering sequence of program steps.
Writes instructions to guide operating personnel during production runs.
Analyzes, reviews and rewrites programs to increase operating efficiency or to adapt program to new requirements.
Assists computer operators in resolving problems in running computer programs.
Answers Help desk calls and assists users with rapid resolution to computer program problems.
Provides ongoing user training.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience (three to five years developing/programming in an ERP environment) required; MBA highly desirable.
Strong technical breadth in enterprise systems requirements, software product development and implementation strategy and object-oriented programming required.
Excellent interpersonal skills required.
Programming skills in C++ and Visual Basic required.
Experience with Great Plains eEnterprise, Microsoft Sequel, Logility and contact management software a plus.
