We are seeking a Manufacturing Production Scheduler to join our dynamic, in-house team. The scheduler is an integral member of the Rio Grande manufacturing team, interfacing and collaborating with sales, forecasting, purchasing, fabrication and operations to ensure that manufacturing orders are fulfilled accurately and on time to meet customer demand. You’ll also be responsible for monitoring, managing and providing insight to improving manufacturing processes and reducing costs.
Responsibilities:
• Schedule work orders to best utilize material, capacity and resources to consistently maintain high fill rates.
• Plan capacity, job set-up efficiencies and sequencing methods for like items/materials to gain efficiencies and realize economies of scale.
• Review inventory reports, verify material and sub assembly counts, evaluate inventory levels, verify and update BOMs.
• Utilize MRP system to plan raw material requirements and schedule manufacturing production.
• Communicate high priority orders, effectively interfacing with production teams, supply chain and linked teams.
• Manage materials and processes for outside services.
• Work with Buyer to ensure manufacturing material needs are met.
• Provide material planning and master scheduling support of contract manufacturing and third party supply chain.
Skills/ Requirements:
• Experience using MRP for material planning and manufacturing production.
• Experience using Microsoft® Great Plains in a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management or similar degree from an accredited college/university. A 2-year degree and equivalent applicable experience may also be considered.
• 5-7 years production planning in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite; proficient in Excel.
• Background in forecasting.
• Demonstrated initiative, creativity and good judgment in solving complex problems.
• Excellent analytical and conceptual skills.
• Ability to listen.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
• APICS certification is a plus
• Ability to adapt to change and challenges.
• Familiarity with TQM methodology and Lean Manufacturing is a plus.
